Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning

Welcome to The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning’s (CATL) website which provides information and resources grouped under a number of primary headings.

CATLysts Network

The CATLyst Network consists of local appointees (CATLysts) within the Faculties who have broad responsibility for promoting teaching and learning within the Faculty and to work with others within the Network to promote teaching and learning within the broader UWA community.

eLearning Development and Support

CATL supports staff who use a variety of information communication technologies (ICT) and other flexible teaching strategies. Here you will find links to WebCT support, online learning, flexible teaching and learning and ilectures.

Evaluation of Teaching

Through the Evaluation of Teaching Unit (ETU), CATL assists staff in seeking and using feedback on teaching from students and peers, and in catering to individual needs of research students. Information on the services ETU provides including assistance in preparing Academic Portfolios is found here.

Programmes & Workshops

Programmes and workshops offered at CATL provide staff and students with background knowledge and the practical skills to work in an academic environment.

The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning reports to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning).
