Support
Staff support for the use of the Lecture Capture System is provided by CATL for administration and the Audio Visual unit for in-venues support.
Student support for the use of the Lecture Capture System is provided by the Student IT Support.

There are currently 74 lecture theatres equipped with lecture capture appliances at UWA.
Sixty-nine of these lecture theatres have screen capture support, three with dual video support and one with audio support.
The lecture capture system (LCS) is available in two modes: automated recording and tape-based processing.
The mode of service depends on whether the lectures for your unit(s) are scheduled in a lecture theatre that is configured with the automated recording system 'enabled'. At present, many of the common teaching venues across the University have been enabled.
Venue notes
- The screen capture recording option is available in most lecture theatres. As the name suggests, this recording format captures everything that is projected from the presenter's computer screen during the lecture. Once screen capture has been booked, there is nothing more you need to do. When you arrive at the lecture venue, connect your laptop to the projection system as per normal and turn on a microphone. The audio visual equipment and LCS will take care of the rest. This is a great feature for students as you can capture PowerPoint, web browsing, or other software demonstrations.
- All lectures scheduled in the venues listed below can be recorded automatically. For lectures scheduled in other venues, personal capture software or portable audio capture devices may be able to be used.
- In some venues, it is also possible to capture projected content when switching between the computer and the visualiser – please contact us in the first instance to confirm that this capability is available in the designated lecture venue.
- The capability column indicates the recording capabilities available in each venue. Dual video recording combines screen capture and Visualiser and/or video. The capability column does not list the equipment the Audio Visual Unit provides in the venue – this information is provided on the UWA Timetable website.
