2004 Visiting presenter: Martin Valcke

Professor Valcke visited Perth from Ghent University in Belgium and was a keynote speaker at the ASCILITE 2004 conference. He offered two workshops on Thursday the 9th of December "Integrating cooperative learning strategies in blended learning environments" & "How active is your lecture".

Workshop information

9.00-11.30am: Integrating cooperative learning strategies in blended learning environments. At this workshop, examples will be discussed of higher education learning contexts in which cooperative learning has been fully integrated. The examples will focus on peer tutoring, asynchronous discussion groups and the redesign of the instructional formats for the f2f sessions.

1.00-3.30pm: How active is your lecture? At this workshop, a variety of new versions of "lecture formats" are presented in a lively way. The workshop will be based on the alternative formats and participants will be challenged to join in and to explore the potential of the alternatives for their contexts.
