Material that is presented in a clear, logical and coherent way will enhance student learning.

  • Carbone (1998) advocates effective organisation to help students follow the teacher's train of thought (p.21).
  • Gibbs & Habeshaw ( 1989) explain the need for students to see the whole picture in order to understand and remember individual parts, and they suggest the use of course guide and course maps to provide a holistic view (pp. 22-23).
  • Davis, Wood & Wilson. (1983) presents seven suggestions concerning "Explaining Clearly"
