Students behavioural issues may arise for a number of reasons. Teachers need to be prepared for these issues and be able to control them.

·         Bertola & Murphy (1994) provide suggestions for setting ground rules in the first session

·         Richardson (1999) addresses 'civility' in the classroom and provides strategies for dealing with classroom control issues.
