What issues would you most like to see addressed in this workshop?
 

Intended Audience:

Teachers and postgraduate students involved in the planning or delivery of labs or workshops.

Workshop Description:

Teaching in the laboratory or workshop setting can often become a routine process that does not take full advantage of the opportunities to improve student learning. This workshop will introduce you to strategies to enhance student engagement and communication between teacher and students, making the experience enjoyable and productive for all.

Intended Outcomes:

Participants will:

  • Analyse their experience of teaching in the laboratory setting
  • Determine areas that would benefit from alternative or new approaches
  • Plan some strategies that can be incorporated into their teaching in labs and workshops designed to offer improved student learning and engagement.

3 hours

  • Wednesday 22 July 2009, 1pm - 4pm
