Teaching with Powerpoint
Intended Audience:The workshop is aimed at those who already have a basic working knowledge of Powerpoint, but would like to learn to present more interesting and effective presentations. Workshop Description:Develop engaging and effective Powerpoint presentations which help your students learn. This workshop will cover both the technical and the pedagogical aspects of successful Powerpoint design, and is aimed at teachers interested in enhancing their presentations and their students' learning. Intended Outcomes:By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: - Identify features of effective presentations
- Understand and apply design principles
- Use Powerpoint to support student learning
- Incorporate interactivity in your presentation for purpose rather than pizzazz
- Use keyboard shortcuts during a presentation
- Integrate elements of your presentation through a single menu to enable you to return, skip ahead of alter the order of a presentation on the fly
- Manage the size of presentations to help storage and transport
- Use successfully some of the more advanced features of Powerpoint
