Stage 2

Stage 2: Pilot implementation of framework

Professor Judyth Sachs is leading a pilot group of eight universities in the implementation and evaluation of the framework at their institution. This involves examining and revising the relevant policies and practices that affect the quality of teaching and learning, establishing the necessary infrastructure and systems to gather and interpret the data and implementing strategies to build a culture that values, recognises and rewards teaching quality. It is hoped that following this trial, the tools and matrices, case studies and guidelines for implementing the framework will be made widely available and promoted within the sector.

Each university is led by their Deputy Vice Chancellor/Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic). This group has met twice to discuss implementation of the project. Each university has employed a Project Officer to coordinate their university response. Currently, the Project Officers are auditing their university, which requires an extensive review of policies and practices that relate to teaching and learning. They will be identifying their chosen dimensions of the framework in early 2008.
