Stage 2 Update

Update Report April 2008

Stage 2: Pilot implementation of Framework

Eight universities agreed to pilot the framework under the leadership of their DVC/PVC(A). All universities have employed a project officer, undertaken a university audit and are currently implementing their chosen dimension of the Teaching Quality Framework. Although each university has chosen the section of the dimension of most relevance to them, the broad dimensions chosen by each of the Universities are;
  • Assessment: Griffith University, RMIT University, The University of Queensland
  • Engagement and Learning Communities: Deakin University, University of South Australia
  • Diversity: University of Tasmania
  • Institutional Climate and Systems: Macquarie University, The University of Western Australia.

The Project Officers for the pilot universities met several times in 2007 to develop their leadership and management skills and to discuss the issues that have arisen in their institutional audits. These opportunities were well received by the Project Officers, who have established a network which provides support and information of progress and strategies. The Pilot Project Officers and the DVC/PVC(A) group will continue to meet in 2008, and maximise this opportunity to strengthen the relationships between universities, share strategic plans and clarify expectations.
