Kennedy, K. J. (1995). Developing a Curriculum Guarantee for Overseas Students. Higher Education Research and Development, 14(1), 35-46.
This article recommends developing a curriculum guarantee as a socially just and responsible mechanism to assist increasing numbers of overseas students enrolling in Australian Universities. It suggests and discusses six broad areas that might form the framework for the development of a curriculum guarantee:
- adequate assessment of overseas students' readiness to learn
- broad issues related to pedagogy and assessment
- social/cultural issues
- curriculum content issues
- student services
- language skills and the interaction of language and culture.
Diamond, R. M. (1989). Designing and Improving Courses and Curricula on Higher Education. San Francisco: Jossey-Bass.
The author offers guidelines for every phase of the design and planning process, explaining how to determine whether to create new courses and programs or to revamp existing ones. It provides a step-by-step guide to systematically enhancing college courses and curricula and presents detailed case studies to show how this approach can be used to improve the quality of instruction. |
