Recognising student needs

As we begin the new academic year, this is an opportune time to recognise student needs. The increasing challenge of tertiary education means this is a critical area to keep in mind when planning teaching activities. In this edition we focus on an overview of issues relating to student learning from a teaching perspective. In a forthcoming edition we will hear the student voice.

All issues this year will include a column from a winner of an Excellence in Teaching Award.

The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) invites reader response to its publication ITL. Responses advancing the scholarly debate of issues raised will be published in the Web version of that issue.
