Promoting quality teaching

As we begin the new academic year, our focus returns to the classroom and the ways in which we can best facilitate student learning through quality teaching. This edition of ITL explores the ways in which excellent teachers and quality teaching may be recognised and promoted in our University. Three areas are explored: recognising good teaching in academic promotions, the recognition of excellent teachers in practice, and the sharing of good practice with colleagues.

The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) invites reader response to its publication ITL. Responses advancing the scholarly debate of issues raised will be published in the Web version of that issue.
