Education after the first degree

The main focus of this edition is graduate (or postgraduate) education, in particular the path towards a doctoral degree and the likely influences on that journey. Among the issues touched upon are: the origins of graduate education traditions, disciplinary differences in doing a PhD, developing a professional identity, reaching beyond research in a PhD, and achieving a doctoral degree through coursework.
